All new or newly acquired x-ray units or other radiation producing equipment must be registered with Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). This registration must be completed, and the associated fees paid, within 30 days of installation of the unit. Download and complete the new x-ray information sheet and send it to DRS using the submit button. DRS will update the registration with MDH. The Department of Radiation Safety (DRS) also handles the annual renewal registrations for all the x-ray units they oversee. Charges are billed back to instrument owners on an annual basis.

MDH must also be notified if radiation producing equipment is brought into the state on a temporary basis, such as a loaner unit, a temporary use unit, or a demonstration unit.
