Office Ergonomics

Modern work often involves heavy use of computers, including typing, mousing, and data entry. Highly repetitive motion from these activities can lead to disabling injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, neck and back strain, and others. Because of this, we provide assistance to University employees in evaluating and modifying their physical workstations to reduce the risk of injury. The University’s Risk Management department assists by providing partial reimbursement for the cost of new equipment when necessary.

In-person evaluations are available, as well as self-assessments and distance evaluations. Visit our Ergonomic Evaluations and Reimbursements page for more information.

You can also visit our showroom in Boynton Health Service to try out chairs, sit-stand desks, keyboards, and mice. Staff are available during open hours to provide assistance.
